ABOUT

Meet Barbara Gallagher

Harpist Barbara Gallagher began studying the harp at age 13. After attending the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, she was hired to play nightly as featured harpist at the Franklin Plaza Hotel in Philadelphia. She also had appearances at major venues including the Academy of Music Ballroom and the Bellevue Stratford Hotel. Additionally, she played with the Lansdale Symphony and the Rowan College Community Orchestra as well as performing internationally at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Subsequently, Barbara spent 21 years performing in some of the most highly acclaimed gourmet restaurants in Atlantic City. She performed nightly at the Claridge Casino Hotel and at Caesars. She also performed weekly at Bally's Casino Hotel for Sunday Brunch.

Although Barbara's harp training is in classical music, over the years she has expanded her repertoire to include pop/contemporary, sacred and light jazz. The uniqueness of her talent in addition to her extensive musical background create a performance that truly enhances any event. She adapts her music effortlessly in many scenarios including weddings and other private celebrations as well as corporate functions in the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas.

Years of experience have rendered Barbara's style diverse enough to satisfy almost any musical request. She plays on a full size concert grand pedal harp and amplifies her instrument so all listeners can enjoy.

What Clients Are Saying

“(Harpist) Barbara Gallagher strums through a repertoire from Bach to Brubeck. Often requested for show tunes… she imparts a delightfully classical touch to them. Mostly, she merges unobtrusively and harmoniously with the restaurant’s elegant surroundings, the beautiful sounds of harp an integral part of its ambience.”
