Harpist Barbara Gallagher began studying the harp at age 13. After attending the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts where she studied under harpist Margarita Montonaro, she was hired to perform nightly as featured harpist at the Franklin Plaza Hotel in Philadelphia.

While in Philadelphia she also had appearances performing on harp at major venues including the Academy of Music Ballroom and the Bellevue Stratford Hotel. She also played as harpist with the Lansdale Symphony and the Rowan College Community Orchestra. Subsequently, she performed internationally at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Since then, she has spent the last twenty-one years performing as harpist in some of the most highly acclaimed gourmet restaurants in Atlantic City. She performed nightly with the harp at the Claridge Casino Hotel for eighteen years and at Caesars for three years. Barbara also performed at Ballys Casino Hotel during the Sunday Brunch. She currently performs with the harp weekly for Sunday Brunch at Bally’s Casino Hotel. In addition, she plays several times monthly at weddings and other private functions.

Although Barbara’s harp training is in classical music,  over the years she has expanded her harp repertoire to include pop, new age and light jazz. Over Twenty-five years of professional playing have rendered her style diverse enough to satisfy almost any musical request.

The uniqueness of her talent as a sought after harpist in addition to her extensive musical background create a performance that truly enhances any setting. She adapts her music effortlessly in many scenarios including weddings, private affairs, corporate functions and restaurants in the South Jersey and Philadelphia Metropolitan areas.
